Free Rock 'n' Roll Songs
Millions of people were and still are inspired by Elvis Presley's music, including some of the top musicians from the 1950s to this present day. The combination of Hillbilly and Blues music performed back in the 1950s by Scotty Moore (lead guitar), Bill Black (slap bass) and Elvis Presley (vocals and rhythm guitar) formed a unique new sound, which would soon come to be known as rockabilly.
This unbelievable sound started raising hairs on the back of people's necks, consequently life-styles and dress-wear started to change to suite Rock'n'Roll music as dance halls and record hops started to fill up with teenage bobby-soxers, jivers and boppers of all ages.
I was one of those people who got hooked on the early Elvis Presley sound, even though I was just a twinkle in my dads eye until 1956. I was soon singing along with the songs on the radio and learning how to do the Cat Walk and Solo Bop in the bedroom. I learnt to play a few cords on a plastic guitar my Mom baught for me, leading me to seek a career as a rock'n'roll singer a few years later when I started work and could afford to get a band together.
I've included some Free Cover Version downloads of the songs that I was inspired by (sung by yours truly).
These are in Windows Media Audio format so will take a few seconds to download. Right click on the download arrow and save target as: (your music folder)
